Open Counsel is building the next generation of legal services—combining AI-native technology with experienced human judgment to make high-quality legal help more accessible, efficient, and affordable.
We develop intelligent legal tools and new ways of delivering legal services for individuals, businesses, and the lawyers who serve them. Our goal is simple: bring the capabilities of modern legal AI beyond the world’s largest firms and institutions and put them to work on Main Street.
By integrating technology directly into how legal services are found and delivered, Open Counsel is working toward a future where sophisticated legal assistance is easier to access, easier to understand, and available to far more people.

Nick is the founder and CEO of Open Counsel. He is currently a J.D. candidate at UCLA School of Law and a Distinguished Scholar, the school’s highest honor for incoming students. Before law school, Nick spent nearly a decade advising entrepreneurs and small businesses through his consulting practice. Most recently, he worked as a summer a
Nick is the founder and CEO of Open Counsel. He is currently a J.D. candidate at UCLA School of Law and a Distinguished Scholar, the school’s highest honor for incoming students. Before law school, Nick spent nearly a decade advising entrepreneurs and small businesses through his consulting practice. Most recently, he worked as a summer associate in Kirkland & Ellis’s Litigation Group and is a current Paul Hastings fellow.
Nick's background includes PhD-level research in finance and large-scale data and research work in an academic laboratory setting. His work is defined by disciplined analysis, systems thinking, and a focus on practical outcomes—bridging law, business, and technology to build tools that are both legally sound and operationally effective.

His background includes serving as lead software engineer for systems design and safety at a United States nuclear power plant, working as an electrical engineer at a U.S. national laboratory, and building large-scale software
Glynn is a senior software engineer with decades of experience designing and operating mission-critical systems. His background includes serving as lead software engineer for systems design and safety at a United States nuclear power plant, working as an electrical engineer at a U.S. national laboratory, and building large-scale software systems for a mid-size insurance company, among many other roles. He brings a level of software safety, reliability, and architectural discipline that has been proven over decades in some of the most demanding and security-sensitive environments in the world.
